Sonam Lama is the key person behind Shambhala Holidays, a trekking company based in Chhetrapati, Kathmandu, Nepal. Established in 2014, the company offers a range of services including tours, trekking, expeditions, rafting, and pilgrimage trips across Nepal, Tibet, India, and Bhutan. Shambhala Holidays is a member of the Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal (TAAN), Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) and Nepal Tourism Board (NTB).
Prem Lama, the key person behind Shambhala Holidays, is a seasoned mountain guide with extensive experience in the Himalayas. Born in Bargaun-Humla, Nepal, he is the first Mount Everest Summiter from west Nepal. He has trekked across nearly every region in the country, including the western section of the Great Himalaya Trails (Simikot-Rara-Dolpo-Mustang). Prem has completed advanced mountaineering and ice climbing training at the Khumbu Climbing Center. His passion for sharing the beauty of the Himalayas led him to establish Shambhala Holidays in 2014, offering tours, trekking, expeditions, rafting, and pilgrimage trips across Nepal, Tibet, India, and Bhutan.
