Nyinba Valley Raling Gompa Trek is incredible in both points of culture and Nature.  Geographically it is situated far corner of West Nepal and most remote trek in Nepal. Nyinba are small Buddhist community with four villages ‘Yul Tso Shi” and three clans “Rutak Sum”. They were descended from ancient Zhang Zhung kingdom of west Tibet. Nyinba preserved Zhang Zhung Tradition well till now. Nyinba are Nyingmapa Buddhist in tradition and white Shamanistic by faith. They practice both Buddhism and Shamanism to make happy their God Chhoekyong, Yultsa and Fola. Nyinba celebrate ancient Zhang Zhung festival Mane, Ngoyang, Dahla, Aamhi and Lhasol. Nyinba are Nyingmapa Buddhist in tradition and white Shamanistic by faith. Guru Rinpoche founded Raling Gompa for Nyinba community early time. Later Mila Repa visited the Raling Gompa and blissed there and made more important. Raling Gompa is the oldest and most important monastery in Humla. Raling Gompa situated base of Crystal Mountain locally known as Shelmo Gang. Mount Shelmo Gang (Crystal Mountain) is the younger sister of Mount Kailash. Before Taklung monastery in Yalbang built, many people from Tukchu Lung, Yultso Dun even Limipa from Limi village come Raling Monastery to pay homage. On that day is Saka Dawa or Wesak Festival. Saka Dawa is the most important festival for Buddhism. In Hindu tradition, this month is called Vaisakhi and the full-moon day called Baisakh Purni. Hindus of Humla specially surrounding villages of Nyinba villages observed Baisakh Purni in Raling Monastery with same time and date. It is one of biggest festival of Buddhist and Hindu in Humla. Sometimes, due to a discrepancy in the solar and lunar calendar, the celebration of the Buddha Purnima and Saka Dawa can differ as much as one month.
